Interac e-Transfer

Sending, requesting and receiving money directly from one bank account to another is easy - thanks to Interac e-Transfer!

What do I need?

All you need is access to Affinity online banking or the Affinity Mobile app and you can send or request money to anyone with an email address or mobile phone number and a bank account in Canada.

Autodeposit for the win!

Autodeposit offers many benefits including making transfers more convenient and efficient, but did you know it can also help protect you against email fraud?

Once you set up Autodeposit and select which account to receive transfers to, funds will be automatically deposited into that account without you having to manually accept and answer the security question. That means fewer steps for you to complete the transfer and less of a chance your transfer will be intercepted by fraudsters who gain access to your email.

Where do I start?

From Affinity Mobile, select Send Money from the top menu. If you’re on a desktop, select Transfers from the top menu and then select INTERAC e-Transfer from the left-side menu.
Select Send Money
Next, select an existing contact or set up a new contact by selecting Manage Contacts and then Add Contact.
Select a Contact
Fill out the contact information fields, including name, contact method (email or mobile phone number) and a choose a security question and answer for the transfer. Click Save Contact.
Add a contact
After selecting a contact to transfer money, enter the amount you’d like to send and which account you would like to transfer from. Press Continue, confirm all the transfer details are correct and press Continue again to complete the transfer. Easy!

To view previous or pending transactions select Send Money and then click the clock icon in the top left-hand side of the screen.

Service Fees

It's free to send an Interac e-Transfer from your Unlimited, Youth, Student or 65+ chequing account.

Your first two e-Transfer† transactions per month are free with the Value Chequing. Beyond that there’s a $1 fee per e-Transfer†. The $1 fee applies to all Interac e-Transfer† transactions on the Pay-as-you-go chequing. They also count as an electronic debit so you may be charged an additional fee depending on the type of account you have and how many transactions you’ve completed that month.

As for our business accounts, we offer free unlimited e-Transfer† transactions with the Business Select chequing account. Our Business Enhanced and Business Basic chequing accounts give five free e-Transfer† transactions per month and beyond that there’s a $1 fee per e-Transfer†. The $1 fee applies to all e-Transfer† transactions from your Business Savings account.

Receiving Interac e-Transfer transactions are always free for the recipient!
