Community Stories

Thanks to our members, we’re able to partner with organizations to support some amazing community initiatives in our province. These organizations share our commitment to build a better world for everyone, every day. They’re making a positive impact in their communities and making a difference in the lives of those who need it.

No matter the type of project or initiative, we’ve witnessed our community partners achieve some pretty fabulous successes. Here are just a few stories that demonstrate how together, we achieve more.

Bridge City Bicycle Co-operative

We’ve been a longtime supporter of the Bridge City Bicycle Co-operative, a volunteer-driven, non-profit co-operative based in Saskatoon that offers a space for individuals of all ages to learn how to fix their own bicycles or build a bicycle using donated frames and parts.

Station Arts Centre

The Station Arts Centre in Rosthern is a cultural hub offering art exhibits, live music, theatre, workshops and community events. It serves as a gathering place for people of all ages, fostering social interaction and cultural enrichment.

Repair Café

We’re proud to support Repair Cafés across the province. These pop-up events invite community members to bring in household items to be fixed for free by volunteers, thereby diverting waste from the landfill and supporting a culture of repair and reuse.

nēhiyawak Language Experience

nēhiyawak Language Experience is an annual week-long, summer Cree language and land-based camp held at Sturgeon Lake First Nation. Our support helps fund expert teachers and necessary facilities, ensuring a rich and impactful language experience.

Hope's Home

Hope’s Home is truly a one-of-a-kind organization, providing care where kids with complex medical and typical needs can learn, grow and thrive. It has become an integral part of several Saskatchewan communities and we’ve been a long-standing partner since the start.

Quint and Build Up Saskatoon

We have a long-standing relationship with Quint and have supported its social enterprise, Build Up Saskatoon, since its inception. Build Up Saskatoon offers steady employment, mentorship and other social supports to its employees to aid them towards meaningful, long-term employment in the construction industry.

YWCA Prince Albert

We proudly support the YWCA Prince Albert by offering financial literacy training for youth seeking employment. We also support the Employability Kickstart Program to help fund birth certificates and SGI photo ID for people who are facing multiple barriers to employment.

Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre

This organization is a natural fit for Affinity, given the services and programming offered to our communities and its role with the 36 other food bank locations across Saskatchewan.

St. Frances Cree Bilingual School STEAM Lab

We’re excited to help enhance STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) at the new St. Frances Cree Bilingual School in Saskatoon. The kēhtāwisowin STEAM Lab at the new school will integrate western knowledge and scientific techniques with Indigenous ways of knowing and doing.
