SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN – After careful consideration, Affinity Credit Union will close our St. Mary’s Advice Centre in Saskatoon effective April 5, 2024.
This was a very difficult decision for our organization and was not taken lightly. Over the past year and a half, our St. Mary’s Advice Centre has encountered a series of incidents that have given rise to significant safety concerns and operational challenges. It is both regrettable and troubling that the escalating frequency and impact of these incidents is causing an increased threat to the safety and well-being of our employees, members and the public.
“The neighbourhood surrounding our St. Mary’s location is much different than it was even five or 10 years ago. The community and health needs prevalent today, and the supports required to address them, have clearly changed,” said Mark Lane, CEO of Affinity Credit Union.
Affinity Credit Union remains committed to our St. Mary’s members and we will work with them through this transition.
St. Mary's boasts a rich history, serving as a trusted institution and an integral part of the Pleasant Hill community since its establishment in the basement of St. Mary’s Parish in 1949. Since then, members have entrusted the credit union to assist with their financial needs and that’s a legacy we’re committed to uphold.
We’re proud to have called St. Mary’s home and genuinely value the relationships we’ve developed with our members and the community. We look forward to continuing to provide them with personalized services and financial advice for many years to come.
